MAD DOG’S CORNER: Security (Or Lack Thereof)

BIGWESTWRESTLING.COM has been on my case for months to start writing a column for the website, but I’ve been content to focus on wrestling and the TV show; especially now that Mike Chisholm has taken over most of the match-making duties as Managing Partner. But then Big West posted this article about how Davey Deals had been suspended from his gig as Big West Head of Security, and it reminded me about how another of our security guards, Ryan Grynn, “accidentally” blinded me on March 10 in my match with Xavier Galaxy.

And after finally calming down about March 10, I’m angry all over again.

What the eff is the deal with our security guards, lately? When did they forget that their job is to keep the fans away from the wrestlers, and not interfere in matches that their pals are in? It’s bad enough the ring crew doesn’t know how to put tools away or properly fold ring aprons, or that wrestlers can’t pick up after themselves in the damn locker room…I have to police the Security staff, now, too?

And since the website likes GIFs so much:

Something these security guards are forgetting though, is the balance of power in Big West: while Chisholm is the “front of house” guy (dealing with matches and wrestlers and such), I’m the “back of house” guy, dealing with the ring, TV production…oh, and support staff and their bad behavior. While I’m looking forward to addressing these concerns, live at Lake City Bowling on April 7, I’m fairly certain Mr. Deals and Mr. Grynn will not be as excited about dealing with ME.

See you there, boys.
